Welcome to the Proud Home of the Stallions
Please take a few minutes to browse through some of our helpful links (that will provide you with a wealth of good ideas for improving study habits, helping your children learn, and even great sites filled with parenting tips). We also include information on our school's staff, important dates on the school calendar, and an information filled Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page. So, enjoy your visit to our site and welcome to Simonton Elementary School!
We want parents and community members to know that great things are happening here. Each day as part of our morning announcements, student leaders recite the Pledge of Allegiance, the Character Pledge, and the preamble to The Declaration of Independence for all the students to hear and participate within each classroom. Our journalism club provides a leadership quote of the day including a lesson on how the students can use the 7 Habits in their daily routine. We focus on helping our students be the best citizens and people they can be.
A Message from Our Principal
Happy New Year Simonton Families,
I hope everyone had a wonderful, relaxing break. This is the time of year when many of us eval-uate previous goals and accomplishments and start setting new goals. Our students and teach-ers will begin doing the same goal review and goal setting process over the next few weeks. It is exciting to see all the growth students are making. The students are eager to share their suc-cesses especially since they have been tracking progress over the course of the year.
Once again we are tracking our school-wide goal: all students will read at grade level or grow one year plus 20%.
Many events will be on campus this semester showcasing our students. Please review our cal-endars, teacher newsletters and weekly updates for information. As always, I appreciate your continuous support and thank you for being a Simonton Stallion.
